The following information relates only to the Registered Breeders of a Pure bred litter who are a member of their State Controlling Body (Dogs Queensland, Dogs NSW, etc) and is governed by a Code of Ethics in their conduct and management of their Purebred dogs and litters.
Registered breeders must be members of their State Controlling Body and also have a registered prefix "their kennel name" approved by their State Controlling Body.
As part of their yearly membership renewal, they are sent their membership card which looks like this:

A Registered Puppy (or a puppy with Papers) must have both parents with a Certified Pedigree. If the breeder does not have the two documents of the Sire (Father) and Dam (Mother) then the puppy cannot be sold as a registered puppy or a puppy with papers. The following document is something similar to the Certified Pedigree that should be provided. The document must have the words Australian National Kennel Council written on it and also the ANKC logo. It may have "Certificate of Registration and Pedigree" or it may have "Certified Pedigree" depending on the origin of the certificate and the dog.
Puppies can be registered on the Main Register or the Limited Register
A puppy registered on the Main Register (General Register as identified in Queensland) is determined by its breeder to be of quality and is able to be shown in conformation competition.
“General Register” means the register kept by the CCC(Q) listing dogs considered by the CCC(Q) as eligible for registration in accordance with these Rules, and which are not limited in their activities. (see also Limited Register)."
A puppy registered on the Limited Register is deemed by its breeder to not be suitable for conformation showing.
“Limited Register” means a Register, kept by the CCC(Q), listing dogs which are otherwise eligible for registration on the General Register but are nominated by the Breeder for inclusion on the Limited Register or subsequently transferred to the Limited Register in accordance with these Rules or as approved by Council. The activities of dogs which are registered on the Limited Register are subject to limitations. Dogs which have been previously registered on the Obedience and Field Trials Register are deemed to be included in the Limited Register.
"Associate Register" means the Register kept by the Dogs Queensland CCC(Q) listing dogs considered by the CCC(Q) as eligible for registration in accordance with their rules, and are limited in their activities to Obedience, Tracking, Agility, Endurance, Herding, Dances with Dogs and Flyball Tests."
